Who We Are
The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem has its origins dating back to the first crusade and the establishment of the Kingdom of Jerusalem in 1099. It was reconstituted in 1847 when the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem was restored, to provide a regular support of prayer and works for the Christian communities in the Holy Land.
What We Do
Under its Papal constitution, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre is a legal entity in canon law. As a religious (but not pontifical) Order of Knighthood, it is one of only two such orders recognized by the Holy See (the other is the Sovereign Military Order of Malta).

One of the projects that the Lieutenancy funded in 2015 was work at the Church at Marj Alhamam in Amman, Jordan, to which we sent £50,000. The Church was inaugurated with High Mass on 15 September, as shown in the invitation received by one of our members. Updated: September 2016
Our Lieutenancy's English Project has now been reported in an article in Networking, Catholic Education Today and this can be read by clicking here.
The EOHSJ England & Wales supported two projects in 2014 - the Priest's House at Irbid and the school at Mafraq. We funded the whole of the cost of the Irbid project (€113k) and about one third of the cost of the Mafraq project (total cost was €221k).
